Weed Wildlife Refuge

Weed, California

In 2001 Covey Pardee Landscape Architects began work with a local non-profit on design of the Weed Wildlife Refuge & Botanical Garden, a significant regional project. Work began with intensive site analyisis, conceptual planning, and coordination with the WWRBG board of directors. Key to the project was the protection of existing wetlands, with the goal of expanding these features for wildlife habitat and generation of revenue to support expansion. The design features wildlife viewing areas, formal gardens, convention center, greenhouses and amphitheater.
